These Terms apply to all users of the Dozo platform, including buyers, sellers, car share hosts, drivers, and visitors. By accessing or using Dozo in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of material changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Dozo after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

To use Dozo you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a legal resident of Japan or visiting Japan
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not have had a Dozo account previously terminated for violations
• Provide accurate and complete information during registration

Dozo is designed primarily for foreign residents of Japan, though anyone meeting the above criteria may use the platform.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at info@dozoforeveryone.jp if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

Each person may hold only one Dozo account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or verification is prohibited and will result in termination of all associated accounts.

You must complete identity verification (KYC) to access marketplace selling, car share hosting, and other features that require trusted interactions. Verification information must be genuine and current.

Sellers agree to:

• List only items they own and have the right to sell
• Accurately describe items, including any defects or damage
• Fulfil orders promptly and communicate in good faith
• Comply with all applicable Japanese laws regarding the sale of goods

Buyers agree to:

• Pay promptly on confirmed purchases
• Communicate in good faith with sellers
• Use Dozo's dispute process for any issues before escalating externally

Hosts (car owners) agree to:

• List only vehicles they own or have authority to share
• Ensure the vehicle has valid Japanese registration, insurance, and shaken (車検)
• Accurately describe the vehicle's condition
• Maintain the vehicle in a safe, roadworthy condition

Drivers agree to:

• Hold a valid driving licence recognised in Japan
• Use the vehicle only for lawful purposes
• Return the vehicle in the same condition as received
• Report any accidents or damage to Dozo and the host immediately

Dozo acts as a platform connecting hosts and drivers. Dozo is not a party to any rental agreement between hosts and drivers, and does not provide vehicle insurance. Users are responsible for ensuring appropriate insurance coverage.

All payments on Dozo are processed by Stripe, Inc. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.

Dozo reserves the right to change fee rates with 30 days' advance notice. All prices are displayed in Japanese Yen (JPY) inclusive of applicable consumption tax.

You must not use Dozo to:

• Engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or deception
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Circumvent identity verification or safety systems
• Create fake listings, fake reviews, or fake accounts
• Conduct transactions off-platform to avoid fees or protections
• Violate any applicable Japanese law or regulation
• Introduce malware, spam, or disruptive content
• Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the Dozo platform

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination, removal of listings, and where required, reporting to relevant authorities.

The Dozo name, logo, platform design, and all related intellectual property are owned by Dozo LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Dozo's intellectual property without prior written consent.

By listing content on Dozo (photos, descriptions, reviews), you grant Dozo a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content to operate and promote the platform. You retain ownership of your content.

Dozo provides a platform connecting users. We do not manufacture, inspect, or take responsibility for the items listed by sellers, or for the condition of vehicles listed on Car Share.

Nothing in these Terms limits Dozo's liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at info@dozoforeveryone.jp. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law.

On termination, your right to use Dozo ends immediately. Pending transactions and obligations that arose before termination remain binding. Data retention follows our Privacy Policy.

In the event of a dispute between users, we encourage you to first use Dozo's in-app dispute resolution process. Dozo will make reasonable efforts to mediate where appropriate.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through our platform process shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court (東京地方裁判所) as the court of first instance.
